Emailing.. is very different from writing a letter and folding an envelope where I can spare a muse thinking how my penpals' look be as he/she slice to open it.
The last time I post to a real penpal was like over 10 years ago.. By reading box of my past years letters, it was like revealing a sweet gifts from someone not very far.. I started this since I was in Kindergarten..

When I was young I wanted to become a postwoman, what a dream.. haha.. Why? Hmm.. Because of many reasons.. I could choose the type of paper and spread my wilderness jar, be it a highlighted pencil, stickers and pieces of tangible fabrics; I can use any language or include many things in my mind with my pen, or fill with a handmade component before I glued it -- It's specially made only for a particular friend. In short, it's the warmness of writing a letter for someone to show that I care and receiving a letter with joy as they replied. My everyday enthusiasm will be to bring that special surprise to someone, whether he/she is happy or lonely, whether it's cloudy or sunny. Becoming the person who bring them what they are waiting for days and nights; either a letter from their love ones, an offer to university or corporate or from a long lost friends overseas. A postman/postwoman would accumulate every smile and keep distribute with passionate, with the wind and sunshine as their close companions.

This become inappropriate as we now have Internet, everything was about pressing on the keyboards and less about sensual little dramatic sketchy handwriting. Occasionally I'll take a ballpoint in hand and write a few lines on a postcard/greeting card for my dearest friend before I know how much I miss them whenever I was travelling and wish to share my present moment. Similar to reading, writing, too, has a means of discovery.

While everyone is using email, this makes handwriting mail special. Receiving an handwriting mail would definitely make one impressed!! Especially mail in mandarin, imagine someone that has used to type english and han yu pin yin. Writing mandarin mail would take a lot of time which i think it would be more meaningful~
